JOB TITLE: PM - Electrical Construction
LOCATION: Birmingham, US-AL
JOB TYPE: Direct
SALARY : $75000 - $95000

DESCRIPTION:
My client, a regional Electrical Contractor/Construction organization, has
an
outstanding opening for a Project Manager. The requirements of the
position
follow:

Position Summary: The Project Manager has the overall fiscal and
operational
responsibility of assigned projects, including working with project
personnel
to ensure compliance with company procedure and contract obligations.

General Purpose: Ensure safe, successful and accepted profitable
completion of
assigned construction projects

Essential Job Functions:

Provide routine coordination and supervision to site personnel of assigned
projects
Manage project profitability and cash flow to accepted cor****ate standards
Fulfill responsibility as the primary client contact by establi****ng and
maintaining productive relation****ps with construction management team
comprised of individuals from different companies with diverse interests,
to
ensure efficient coordination of activities
Manage the project correspondence and contract obligations to achieve
company
objectives

Essential Skills and Experience:

Electrical field experience as foreman, general foreman, superintendent (6
years minimum) and/ or experience as Project Manager with proven success
overseeing comparable type/size/technical projects
Financial experience in project budgeting, understanding of accounting
procedures and contract terms
Understanding of labor tracking concept for construction jobs and ability
to
instruct others
Ability to work within established guidelines/procedures
Above average computer skills especially Excel
Current Journey or Masters electrical license
Excellent communication and people skills proven leader****p ability
Assertive and confident
Ability and willingness to interact with clients
Ability to multi task in fast paced, stressful and adverse environment
Good leader****p and organizational skills
Ability to deal with diverse people and personalities at all levels
Proactive problem solving attitude

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Engineering, Construction Management or Business Degree
Familiar with Accubid and Timberline
Understanding of business law and contracts

Re****ting to this position: Project administrators, assistant project
managers,
project engineers, field personnel

Position Responsibilities:

Work with foreman to establish project budget and submit final budget for
approval
Take off, price, prepare and negotiate all scope revisions
Manage accounting issues to include follow up with vendors regarding
accounts
payable issues and collect accounts receivable
Maintain knowledge of content of contracts for assigned projects to ensure
installations meet requirements
Ensure the safe operation of the project including weekly safety tool box
meetings
Develop, implement and maintain labor tracking and cost to complete
information
Review engineering submittals for understanding of content
Provide leader****p to all level of people on multiple projects including
those not within direct control
Review drawings and respond to questions relative to drawings
Manage required do***entation in accord with company procedures
Maintain contact and coordination through regular jobsite visits with
engineer, architect, GC and field staff to monitor job progress
Participate in regular job site, labor, accounting, and EAC meetings in
addition to quarterly scope reviews with owners
Work with foremen on an ongoing basis to find best technical way to
complete
job
Establish and maintain a positive relation****p with clients to position
company for negotiation of new work
Approve all material and stock orders from purchasing
Work with Human Resources in recruiting and interviewing candidates,
providing information for employee performance reviews and disciplinary
issues
of employees
Obtain complete acceptance of work, provide as-builts, collect final
retainage and letters at close out
Coordinate shut down and removal of tools and material at end of job
Additional duties, as assigned
Develop and implement electrical schedule into overall project schedule
and
monitor, update and do***ent
Proactively address and resolve issues as they arise
Assemble information to ensure accurate and complete purchase of major
equipment
Work with foreman to purchase and release traffic material efficiently
