SQL Server Database Administrator
* Work on a very seasoned team and have the op****tunity to learn from
senior level database professionals * Recommend and assist in building
prototypes of new applications or products using the SQL Server RDBMS
software * Resolve technical problems in regards to system design and
user requirements involving the database environment * Assist in
development and maintenance of the DBMS Standards & Procedures for
using the SQL Server RDBMS * Establish good rap****t and working
relation****ps with users, peers and management * Share knowledge with
all members of the Database Administration staff * Serve as a backup
to other Database Administration staff personnel as required and
willing to provide sup****t in an on call 7 X 24 capacity * Provide
Database Administration functions including: - Assist in development
of project plans and perform installation of SQL Server RDBMS software
and maintenance to the RDBMS environment - Perform the physical
database design process and participate in the logical database design
process - Do***ent all activities regarding physical database design -
Provide application assistance/sup****t during the design, development,
implementation and maintenance of systems using the SQL Server RDBMS -
Conduct capacity planning for test & production database environments
to sup****t the application systems using the SQL Server RDBMS -
Develop proper backup and recovery processes for database
environments. Implement and maintain the physical database
environments and physical database security. - Conduct performance
tuning and monitoring of database environments and applications using
the SQL Server RDBMS software - Maintain technical knowledge relative
to ChoicePoint products, applications and services in both a
developmental and operational environment
Required Skills and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in CIS or related
field or equivalent work related experience * 4+ years experience in
all facets of SQL Server RDBMS management * including using,
administering and managing all aspects of SQL Server (versions 8,
2003, 2005) in Production and Development environments * Excellent
verbal and written communication skills * Above average technical
problem solving skills to provide sup****t for SQL Server RDBMS
environments and user communities * Knowledge of System Administration
and experience in Data Modeling and T-SQL. * Experience with the
following operating systems: Windows (2000, 2003, XP). Technical
experience must include - installing, configuring and upgrading,
capacity planning, extensive SQL knowledge, DTS, replication, log
****pping, re****ting services, analysis services, physical database
design, utilities, implementation, performance tuning, backup and
recovery, data normalization, implementing security, disaster recovery
solutions, and automating jobs. This will include using (SQL Profiler,
Performance Monitor, Query Analyzer, Enterprise Manager, esql or
osql), monitoring tools, and ITIL change management * Must be self-
motivated, detail oriented and highly responsible * Able to take on
additional responsibilities as delegated * Must have the ability to
sometimes work with limited input, work individually and in a team
environment and contribute as a team player and add value to the
team.
