Description: Will be a float IV Resource Nurse for all of New Jersey,
hours are 7 am - 3 pm.
POSITION SUMMARY: Participates in the development, implementation and
evaluation of infusion related activities in nursing centers. These
include but are not limited to educational, clinical and quality
improvement programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Provide clinical and educational sup****t to the center nursing staff
and customers. This includes but is not limited to the administration of
medications, customer *****sment, and evaluate the management of vascular
access devices.
2. Perform quality improvement reviews and make recommendations for the
center’s QI program.
3. *****s customer’s vascular access and make recommendations to meet
needs.
4. Perform insertions of peripheral, midline and PICC catheters to meet
the customers’ needs.
5. Participate in developing and presenting formal and informal
in-services.
6. Assist center in evaluating, selecting and implementing new infusion
products and services.
7. Actively participate in the mentoring process for center nurses
managing the care of vascular access devices.
8. Attend a minimum of four educational programs annually to maintain
professional competence.
9. Provide all components of care in a professional, goal oriented,
customer specific manner and function with the state nurse practice act
where licensed and practicing.
10. Puts Customer Service First: Ensure that customers and families
receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate
atmosphere which recognizes the individual’s needs and rights.
11. Maintain accurate customer care records and do***ents pertinent data
reflecting the use of the nursing process for infusion related care.
12. Performs other duties as requested.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current
registered nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing for the state(s)
in which required to practice.
2. A minimum of two years full-time or equivalent clinical experience is
required and a minimum of one year of clinical experience in a critical
care setting, or infusion therapy team.
3. Participates in ensuring 24 hour coverage. Infusion Resource Nurse are
available to meet the centers needs. This includes but is not limited to
the establishment of an on call schedule to cover weekends, nights and /
or holidays.
4. Previous experience teaching adults is recommended.
5. Maintain CPR certification
6. Obtain CRNI certification
