MS SQL Server Database Administrator
RESPONSIBILITIES: # Develop and test processes, procedures and jobs to
monitor and/or automate tasks required to data transformation. # Tune
SQL procedures and/or statements for optimizing system performance. #
Develop shell scripts and procedures for routine DBA tasks. # Perform
basic transactional and dimensional database administration tasks. #
Analyze and develop solutions to SQL related problems. # Maintain
do***entation and standards.
Experience: EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: # Minimum 5-8 years
of database administration. # Expert knowledge of writing complex T-
SQL scripts. # Configure and maintain MS SQL Server and database
settings # Monitor database and MS SQL Server performance and tune as
necessary # Strong knowledge of all database concepts (e.g. views,
partitions, indexes, stored procedures, functions and service broker
etc). # Review database design changes to determine the affects to the
physical database and architecture and determine the impact on other
systems # Perform impact analysis of database object changes # Code
stored procedures and triggers # Administer and maintain backups #
Establish physical database parameters # Enforce database coding
standards # Perform data recovery as necessary # Perform capacity
planning # Ability to be flexible/adaptable and to perform multiple
tasks concurrently # Excellent customer service attitude, written and
verbal communication and interpersonal skills # Excellent
organizational and time management skills # Excellent analytical and
problem solving skills # Must be self motivated and detail oriented #
Ability to work independently and in a team environment # Ability to
work efficiently in a fast-paced environment # Bachelor's Degree with
emphasis in Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent
experience required # Microsoft Certified Database Administrator
(MCDBA) is a plus.
