SQL Database Administrator (DBA)
Responsibilities:
Monitoring replication and make correction actions in case of problems
Monitor jobs execution, and make correction actions when necessary
Respond to requests for data, requiring writing some ad hoc queries
(like request for audit trail for some accounts etc) Making database
installations and upgrades of databases to new versions Maintenance
and monitoring of database systems for optimal performance and
availability of databases Design, test and implement Disaster
Recovery, Backup and Restore strategies, standards and scripts
Maintain and enforce cor****ate database security policies and controls
for all database environments Manage hardware requirements for
production systems Troubleshoot networks, systems and applications to
resolve all database issues, assist developers, network
administration, and applications sup****t staff in diagnosing and
resolving database-related application problems Install, configure,
upgrade, and maintain Database servers. Develop scripts to optimally
perform procedures, functions and notifications as part of the day to
day management functions Architect and design of production database
systems. Create primary objects (tables, views, indices, keys), as
required to sup****t the requirements defined by the application
sup****t functions and system developers.
Education, Experience, Skills:
Four years of experience in SQL server Database Administration on
Windows platforms. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information
Technology or a related business area is required. Experience with
databases with high-transaction volume in a fast-paced, production
environment. Demonstrated knowledge of Server Administration, Security
Administration, Network Administration and Application Development is
preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are
required. Excellent problem-solving skills, a self-starting attitude
and good communication skills are essential Must be able to work in a
team-oriented environment and as a member of the production sup****t
team Experience maintaining high-availability systems (7x24x365)
Experience with Backup & Recovery, Security, Performance monitoring
and tuning
