Database Administrator Detailed Description As a Senior Database
Administrator, you are instrumental in researching, evaluating,
designing, testing, recommending, and planning implementation of new
versions of Oracle database and database tools. May act as a team lead
during database implementations and for system operation and
maintenance. Additional Details
=B7 Create and maintain databases in Development and QA environment as
required by product release schedule and service level agreements
=B7 Use existing utilities to migrate product data from one environment
to another
=B7 Diagnose, research and resolve database-related errors/issues
encountered by Product Development and Sup****t
=B7 Apply patches and single fixes as required
=B7 Develop/sup****t internal tools, released tools and utilities with
minimal assistance and supervision
=B7 Contribute to ongoing efforts to achieve operational efficiency by
creation of scripts and utilities
=B7 Assist the team in publi****ng and maintaining do***entation
=B7 Operate under minimal supervision, within and outside of the Release
Services team
=B7 Work with other team members to ensure quick resolution of internal
and external customer problems
=B7 Act as backup for Application Server Administrator
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
=B7 Bachelor degree in IT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering,
Math or Physics
=B7 Seven or more years of Oracle database administration experience,
sup****ting multi-tier products in development and/or production
environment, three or more years in a Sr. DBA capacity.
=B7 Admin level knowledge of Windows OS and at least one of the
following Unix dialects: Red Hat Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX
=B7 Hands-on with Internet technologies and J2EE platform in particular
=B7 Skilled in Perl and other scripting languages
=B7 Hands-on experience sup****ting Development, QA and Deployment of
major and maintenance product releases
=B7 Good understanding of programming languages and software development
lifecycle
=B7 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
=B7 Ability to work well under pressure on multiple concurrent projects
=B7 Enterprise software company experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
=B7 Experience administering SQL Server and/or DB2 UDB
=B7 Proficiency in two or more of the following OS platforms: HP/UX,
AIX, Linux, Solaris.
=B7 Knowledge of application servers (Oracle Application Server,
WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat) administration and configuration
=B7 Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager grid control
