Sr.Database Admin/Oracle & DB2
Specific duties will include:
=B7 RDBMS performance monitoring, tuning, and problem resolution;
closely monitor performance; identify problems and implement
solutions; ensure the database is running at optimum speed efficiency;
reorganize database structures as needed; contact vendor sup****t when
necessary. =B7 Provide assistance in database design as needed; research
and recommend optimal design criteria; publish standards and work with
development staff; standardize environment and improve efficiency. =B7
Develop and apply procedures relating to database and application
security; create procedures by which access is authorized, enabled,
changed, and withdrawn; ensure that access authorizations are
periodically reviewed and passwords, userid's, etc., are regularly
changed; ensure that applications and data cannot be accessed by
unauthorized persons, but can be easily accessed by those who are
properly authorized. =B7 Maintain database backup and recovery
environment; verify implementation of correct backup strategy; develop
recovery procedures; sup****t recovery from loss of data caused by user
or system error. =B7 Install and upgrade RDBMS and related products;
keep RDBMS at current release and maintenance levels; install
sup****ting products; provide current, stable production environments.
Required: =B7 This job requires a professional level of knowledge in
Database Administration which would be acquired through the completion
of a Bachelor's degree. Demonstration of directly related work
experience which has provided an equivalent breadth and depth of
knowledge may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement. =B7
DBA skill to sup****t both Oracle Databases and DB2 Databases =B7
Experience in sup****ting Database systems under a Unix operating
system. =B7 Performance Tunning of both Oracle and DB2. =B7 An
understanding of Siebel software is a plus. =B7 Ability to communicate
clearly (verbal & written) with employees, management, customers and
vendors. =B7 Ability to meet deadlines, maintain an attention to detail
and accuracy, while working solo or in a team or group environment. =B7
Proficiency in do***enting processes and validating procedures to
ensure accuracy of information. =B7 Ability to analyze processes and
identify problems in logic or performance to develop and deploy
solutions to eliminate those problems. =B7 This job requires a minimum
of 6 - 10 years experience in Database Administration for mid to large
scale organizations as relating to Information Technology and the use
of Heirarchical Databases.
