Systems Engineer
Job Summary Works with development teams on tasks of a very complex
nature to provide database design, architecture, performance tuning
and testing.
Responsible for initiating and conducting broadly defined technical
tasks and programs related to data integration and information flow
across multiple platforms in a manufacturing environment.
Performs routine database administration tasks including:
installations and upgrades of RDBMS software, configuration of
databases, analyzing, reviewing and altering databases to increase
operating efficiency and adapt to new requirements, backup
configuration and database recovery.
Responsible for performing and guiding technical activities resulting
from approved self-initiated or assigned programs leading to
innovative applications and extensions of existing or new products/
technologies having major im****tance to the business.
Identifies problems and op****tunities for improvement with existing
systems, as well as possible quick-fix or long-term solutions to those
problems. Defines business/system constraints and leads the strategic
design of the proposed solution.
Leads installation of necessary hardware/software, integrations into
other systems.
Responsible for integration of data from multiple sources and
platforms to reliably provide information necessary for decision
making.
Fosters and cultivates an extensive network of sup****t (systems,
laboratory, quality, financial, manufacturing, engineering, IT) to
facilitate completion of assignments.
Identifies and implements a comprehensive education plan to
continually advance technical skills and personal development.
Candidate Profile Database development experience with an emphasis on
performance tuning, data analysis, modeling, and the development of
triggers, views, queries, and stored procedures. Experience with
schema modeling applications, SQL Server database development tools.
RDBMS database administration experience and certification and a major
plus.
Track record of success delivering systems solutions to the business.
Software Engineering Methodology (RUP, NSI...).
Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent experience
