DB2 DBA / Database Administrator
Position Description
* Provide assistance to Database Architect in application table design
* Provide rotating on-call sup****t * Define and set-up database
utilities * Gather information for corrective actions to maintain
database performance and efficiency * Identify and resolve database
problems * Process requests for modifications to existing database
structures
Required Skills:
* Minimum of 6+ years working in IT, with: * 5+ years with DB2, and 1+
year with version 7 * 3+ years performing DB2 DBA application
functions * 3+ years working with DB2 utilities (IBM or BMC) (reorg,
image copy, etc) * 1-2 years database design experience * Use of
Omegamon for DB2 * 1-2 years of tuning SQL.
Desired Skills:
* Xpeditor (using with Stored Procedure a plus) * Working in a
Distributed environment * DB2 Connect * IBM utilities (IEBGENER,
IEBCOPY, etc) * CLIST, Dialog Manager, and REXX * JCL
