Description: Under general supervision and medical direction performs
respiratory care related procedures. Exercises considerable judgment in
accordance with physicians treatment plan and within the scope of
departmental policies and procedures. *****ses residents condition,
administers prescribed therapy and aerosolized medications, observes and
records residents progress and response to therapy modalities including
adverse reactions to drugs and therapy. Provides in-service training to
residents, family members, and nursing home staff.
Scope of practice is primarily adult and geriatric residents. Utilizes
knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the
residents age to ensure that care provided meets the unique, physical and
psychological needs of the resident. Involves appropriate parties (I.e.
residents family or nursing home staff) in the *****sment, treatment, and
continuing care of the resident as needed.
A respiratory Therapist must have a high level of knowledge of respiratory
therapy and practice required through completion of a NBRC approved and
accredited program and one year of clinical practice experience under
medical direction. Must have a current Basic Cardiac Life Sup****t
certification and current State Licensure for a Respiratory Care
Practitioner.
Must have NH license!
