We are looking for a second ****ft electrician in a industrial
Wire&Cable manufacturing.
Location is in Willimantic, CT. USA.
I'm not the one that does the hiring but may be involved in
the introduction and training of the candidate.
My boss has been unsuccessful with what he terms as basic
requirements for a qualifying applicant.
What he is looking for is one that clearly understands
industrial controls operation in the basic sense with the ability
to debug basic electrical issues on machines where cases like not having
proper blue prints available, using techniques to isolate issues and
even using different components that may require slight alterations as a
replacement.
one of the example questions may be:
"How would you go about tracking down a E-stop issue that won't
clear?"
He is a good guy but being very careful on the one that gets accepted
for the job. He does not like getting phone calls after hours for simple
things.
And what he is looking for is some one that would be able to tear
into a machine there by understanding its basic components with limited
do***entation to isolate things down to a working solution that could be
permanent of tem****ary until the day ****ft can solve it correctly if
needed.
Also, there would be some basic project jobs when things aren't busy
like maybe installing some outlets, replacing lights.
The candidate will also be expected to do some basic cross work
helping the mechanic if needed when he isn't busy with his own
electrical trade.
I will check in here tomorrow to see what becomes of this post.
Thanks.
