Leading Fiber Optic Telecommunications Provider seeks (1) Senior and (1)
Junior Network Engineer/Installation Technician responsible for the
installation, operation, sup****t, and maintenance of the network equipment
(data and/or voice), and/or security infrastructure including analysis and
sup****t for one or more of the following: routers, switches, hubs,
sniffer/packet decoders, firewalls, WiFi access points. Linux/UNIX
knowledge a plus.
The qualified candidate will work with high end Cisco equipment such as
7600 routers on a regular basis. This individual will work closely with
others within the Network Services team and will provide technical sup****t
to various departments. This position may interface with customers and
vendors from time to time. Experience with Cisco equipment is a MUST.
Cisco Certifications (the more the better) are a plus.
Educational & Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent work
experience.
Experience
In-depth knowledge of Cisco hardware (routers, switches, content switches,
WLSE¦) and IOS minimum six years experience
Comprehensive knowledge of network and security principals - LAN/WAN and
Internet technologies
In-depth knowledge of IP addressing (subnetting, super netting, VLSM,
etc.)
Proficient with Windows and Unix/Linux OS
Knowledge of security technologies considered a plus
Voip and Multicast routing experience
Network Design
Interface experience with Firewalls and UNIX
