Software Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst
Duties And Responsibilities:
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences Information Technology (FAS) is
seeking a Software QA Analyst. Re****ting to the Software License
Coordinator, the QA Analyst will define, execute and troubleshoot
software testing standards and procedures for Web-based and desktop
applications. Responsibilities include establi****ng and maintaining
test environments, performing hands-on testing efforts (both manually
and using automated tools), developing a QA do***entation library and
re****ting test results, establi****ng and maintaining vendor
relation****ps. Working closely with clients, vendors and internal
Computer Services groups, the QA Analyst will design and manage
release control plans, resolve testing process issues and implement a
solid quality assurance structure. Additional duties include fielding
software inquiries from the Service Desk and authoring software
do***entation.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of software QA experience
is required for this position. The successful candidate will possess a
strong knowledge of software QA methodology. Proficiency using test
automation, software change management and software version control
applications is desired (HP/Mercury =F1 LoadRunner, WinRunner, QuickTest
Pro). Knowledge and experience in current Web technologies (HTML, XML,
etc.), Java/Java Script and testing Web applications is a plus.
Experience with Oracle database connectivity. Demonstrated ability to
work both independently and as part of a test team is desired.
Candidates should possess strong oral and written communication
skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to
clients. Familiarity with ITIL processes, LanDesk and Remedy is a
plus. Experience in an educational environment is helpful.
