Senior Programmer/Analyst
The Senior Programmer/Analyst will be responsible for driving a
technology team in the determination of specifications, maintenance,
development, modification and expansion of highly complex, new and
current programs. This person will assist in planning, organizing and
overseeing the activities of other Systems Analyst/Programmers as well
as coordinating the activities of the team with other departments
(e.g. data base, operations, telecommunications, etc.) for a timely
resolution of problems. S/he will work with various software vendors
to find solutions to different problems. The Senior Programmer/Analyst
will identify and apply required patches to resolve bugs. This person
will be responsible for accepting incoming requests via phone, email,
etc., log them as tickets and escalate to management where
appropriate. This person must be able to provide off-hours sup****t on
a rotation basis and will act as a technical resource to staff in all
phases of the development and implementation process. This position
requires 24 x 7 sup****t for production systems. The Senior Programmer/
Analyst will assist and train staff in interpreting changes and will
offer sup****t in implementation efforts.
Minimum Requirements :
The ideal candidate will have a BS in Computer Science or equivalent
plus a minimum 6 years of extensive IT industry experience. Strong
knowledge of industry standard IT best practices such as change
control, version control and system development life cycle are a must
have. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in developing
Internet / eCommerce / Client Server applications using JAVA, J2EE,
JSP, Servlets, EJB, RMI and XML and OOPs methodology as well as
experience in developing Internet / eCommerce / RMI applications. S/he
will have solid experience in Java J2EE development and experience in
database platforms like Oracle and must have experience in writing
SQL. Previous experience managing and mentoring a junior team is
required. Previous knowledge of RMI / Retek Oracle RPOS / Retek Oracle
SIM / ADS / Taxware API is a plus. S/he should be able to work under
minimal supervision and should possess strong communication skills;
both written and verbal. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a
fast-paced, dynamic environment and can work well independently as
well as with a team.
