Software Test/Quality Specialis
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
=B7 Develops comprehensive, detailed test scenarios based upon
functional and technical requirements supplied by the Business Systems
Analyst and Systems Analyst. Provides guidance and coaching to peers
and subordinates on testing techniques and processes.
=B7 Establishes and prepares the test environment for executing test
scripts. This includes planning and scheduling time for the testing,
knows what and where to get the data needed, and coordinating
logistics with staff (e.g., Developer, DBAs, etc.). Knows and
understands how the business unit utilizes the programs/applications
and communicates the impacts/implications to the developers and Sector
Team Leads (STL).
=B7 Plans, monitors and verifies testing at the system and user
acceptance levels. Prepares and reviews test scripts, testing
do***entation, tracking forms, quality standards and procedures with
peers and co-workers. Runs tests to validate and analyze program/
application functionality. May review and provide feedback on test
scripts developed by TS I and makes recommendations/suggestions for
improvement. Executes complex scripts independently and recognizes and
adjusts scripts to meet technical/business needs.
=B7 Ensures test results are accurate, thorough and appropriately
captured on the appropriate forms and testing do***entation.
Communicates results to the Sector Team Lead (STL), developers, and
other key staff. Tests system modifications and do***ents problems or
results inconsistent with expected results. Performs quality assurance
tests on all work performed for any ****tion of the program/
application. Certifies applications for release to the production
environment. Understands and utilizes state of the art automated
technology to capture, do***ent and track test results.
=B7 Provides input to the appropriate systems area on quality, usability
and gaps in system features and designs. Works with STL and developer
to schedule, execute and test design enhancements to the application
code utilizing defined operating processes and procedures.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skill, education and /or experience required.
=A7 Minimum of 2 years testing experience.
=B7 Excellent coordination, analytical, technical writing
=B7 Must have excellent interpersonal skills
=B7 Ability to do***ent results and present ideas clearly
=B7 Highly motivated, innovative and creative
=B7 Must be able to work independently
=B7 Proven ability to work in a team environment and interact at any
level of the organization
=B7 Must have a high level of proficiency of PC skills in the windows
based environment (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/MS Project/Visio).
Knowledge and demonstrated usability of automated testing tools
(Rational Rose)
=B7 Basic project management knowledge and ability to manage small
projects.Minimal level of proficiency with Microsoft Project
Candidate must be willing to go through a background check before
employment.
Preferred but not required:
Bachelor's Degree
Certified Software Testing Engineer (CSTE) certification
