Database Administrator
Requirements
* Proven experience in MS SQL 2000 / 2005 environment. * Solid
knowledge of SQL profiler and SQL performance counters. * Experience
with sup****t and administration of web enabled, multi-database
environments including SQL Clustering and various SAN storage
solutions. * Experience tuning and optimizing the Windows database
platform. Must understand high availability issues as they relate to
databases * Highly organized individual, capable of handling multiple
conflicting priorities and comfortable working with a diverse team. *
Strong written and verbal communication skills * 5 to 10 years
experience of database administration and SQL programming * Bachelors
degree in information systems or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
* Solely responsible for maintaining databases that provide core
Company's product/services. * Perform system optimization and
improvement planning including but not limited to SQL Server database
performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing and ongoing
maintenance/tuning ensuring maximum performance. * Work with
Infrastructure and engineering teams to make sure standards and
optimization goals are met before production releases * Provide both
written and verbal communication on project progress, implementation,
issues, and risks. * Design, implement, and participate in the
disaster recovery process and database backups. * Generate scripts to
simplify and automate regular database maintenance, such as index
rebuilds, analyze and backup procedures. * Troubleshoot and do***ent
database problems as they arise. * Develop and implement security
policies
