Job Title: Software Engineering Manager | Technical Director
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Rapidly growing, publisher, developer and distributor of innovative,
high quality, casual games for mass market consumers.
Seeking a dynamic and talented technical leader with experience
managing a team of top-notch developers. The selected candidate will
have demonstrated an ability to lead a diverse and multi-talented,
multi-functional team of system/tools engineers, game programmers and
web developers and to lead and build consensus on challenging technical
issues.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing all of the
software engineers within the company and take on the responsibility of
their functional manager within a game development matrix structure.
Responsibilities:
=B7 Totally responsible for the quality and timeliness of all
engineering tasks within the company
=B7 Ensure that products are designed and developed to meet product
roadmap, architecture quality and performance standards
=B7 Ensure adherence to coding standards, naming conventions and
methodologies in engineering design and development
=B7 Drive the planning and execution of all engineering tasks for
systems, tools development and games development
=B7 Work with other functional managers within the management matrix to
ensure timely delivery of games
=B7 Ensure that the executive team is aware of the direction and
priorities of the engineering team
=B7 Mentor, train and grow the team of engineers
=B7 Hiring additional engineers in line with company growth
=B7 Re****ts to the Head of the Game Studio
Qualifications:
=B7 A minimum of BS (MS preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent
=B7 10+ years of experience in the software engineering field.
Preferably Web or Online Game Development
=B7 4+ years of experience managing high-quality game development,
preferably with C++ technologies
=B7 Experience with Flash a plus
=B7 Experience with managing game SDKs and frameworks a plus
=B7 A complete understanding and extensive experience with
Object-Oriented design and development
=B7 Project management, process management, and strong problem solving
skills
=B7 Able to fit in well within an informal environment and to provide
hands-on management
=B7 Excellent project management and organizational skills
=B7 Must possess high level of enthusiasm and be a strong team player
=B7 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
=B7 Demonstrated ability to attract and retain top talent
