Job Description:
 	The IS Specialist 1 - Deployment Engineer is responsible for
installing and removing applications from complex environments such as
clusters and multi-channel Server configurations in sup****t of
deployments or changes to the environment.Primary function is
Microsoft Intel based server sup****t of  applications.  Secondary
function is UNIX/LINUX WLI sup****t of  applications.Responsibilities:
Perform planned and unplanned tasks with the I.T. Sup****t teams in the
sup****ting, generation, testing, and do***enting of network related
cross-platform communications interfaces. Assist in the planning of
short and long range changes in configuration and make recommendations
for the selection of platform configurations, hardware, and software.
May also assist in the recommendation of tools and monitoring
facilities. Responsible for the planning, generation, testing,
do***enting, automating and training for deployment sup****t.

Requirements:
 	Requires Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or
equivalent experience (minimum of 8 years).   A minimum of 2 years in
a similar position desired. Strong interpersonal and communication
skills; capable of training users in applications and operating system
fundamentals and writing do***entation. Possess effective oral and
written communication skills in a fast paced, mission critical, high
demand, technically changing open systems and/or enterprise software
production and/or large data center work environments is required.
High skill with most operating system commands/utilities. Familiarity
with most basic system administration tools and processes; for
example, can boot/shut down a machine, add and remove user accounts,
use backup programs and fsck or chkdsk, maintain system database files
(groups, hosts, aliases, usermanager). Fundamental understanding of an
operating system; for example, understands job control, soft and hard
links or shortcuts, distinctions between the kernel and the user
environment. Familiarity with FTP servers, Apache servers, DNS
servers, network troubleshooting Experience with IBM AIX, UNIX/LINUX,
Weblogic (WLI) and Tomcat deployment sup****t is desired. Experience
with Tru64 and EDI processing sup****t is desired. Experience with
Windows Server 2000 or 2003 operating systems is desiredExperience
with Compaq / HP Proliant DL servers is desiredScripting experience
required for automation needs.  (i.e. ksh, XML, HTML, ASP, perl,
etc).  Must have the ability to communicate effectively to the rest of
the team and may be asked to represent the team at meetings.   Will
participate in design sessions within the team and with Mitchell teams
as necessary.Must be capable of thinking outside the box.This is a day-
****ft position for the initial training period, and will transition
into a rotating day and evening ****ft.  The candidate must be willing
to work a flexible eight hour ****ft between the hours of 12:00 pm and
2:00 am. As needed for off-hour deployment sup****t.
