Seeking Vice President of Operations for a privately-held Oracle
Applications Outsourcing and Consulting services firm headquartered
in Morristown, NJ.
Other locations include ****tsmouth, England; Mumbai, India; Beijing,
China; and Union, NJ.
The company currently has approximately 85 employees.
The Company has been consistently profitable since its founding in
1990 and enjoyed 40+% year-over-year revenue growth in 2004.
Similar growth is expected in 2005.
The successful candidate, a dynamic, proactive individual with
strong Oracle applications, technology, systems, management, client
interfacing, and communication skills, re****ting to the founder and
CEO, will be part of a senior management team responsible for the
profitable growth of the company.
They will possess extensive experience in managing all aspects of
database and network administration domestically and in India,
applications hosting, software development, and data center operations
in a fast growing, high-technology company. They must be skilled at
understanding the full range of simple to complex technical issues.
This individual also will provide direction and guidance in the
development
and execution of policies, procedures, and plans intended to meet the
company's objectives, including acting as a resource for other departments
in expediting critical issues.

The base salary for this position is targeted at $130,000-$150,000
with bonus potential of 15%-25%.
The organization that re****ts to this position is comprised of 10
first re****ts with a staff of approximately 45 in two locations.
Although local candidates are preferred, some relocation assistance
will be provided if needed.
Essential Functions:
Perform as a hands-on, intimately engaged manager as well as a
strategic thinker.
Oversee applications hosting delivery operations and day-to-day
client satisfaction management.
Responsible for the planning, definition, development, delivery,
maintenance, and management of Operations policies, procedures,
resources, and cor****ate commitments required for internal and
outsourced deployments and related project implementations as well
as the recruitment and management of the personnel required to provide
proactive and reactive client-centric consulting services in sup****t
of these deployments.
Plans and executes strategies to enhance processes, procedures,
systems, metrics, employee skill levels, profitability, and
productivity.
Develops and directs the management of Data Center(s) to ensure
client satisfaction, improved service delivery performance, and
higher service retention and renewal rates.
Manages and mentors Service Delivery team in achieving excellent
client satisfaction levels through client-centric cost-effective,
productive service escalation and problem resolution practices.
Develops and defines internal training programs and improves the
Company personnel's skill levels related to client satisfaction
delivery and systems, software, and product knowledge.
Develops performance metrics and manages to ensure that all personnel
and operational systems are continuously evaluated for client-centric
outcomes in a cost-effective manner.
Manages the Research & Development team in the development of
automated productivity systems.
Ensures migration toward technology offerings that will facilitate
higher client satisfaction and productivity performance and enhanced
Operations training, re****ting, and tracking capabilities.
Communicates effectively inter-and intra-departmentally to ensure
that the company's operational priorities are aligned with overall
company direction and goal achievement.
Supervises the establishment of project scopes, requirements,
budgets and timelines.
Applies business performance measurements and incentives to
promote client satisfaction, innovation, and productivity.
Manages client expectations for service delivery.
Recruits, trains, and retains excellent team-oriented personnel.
Sup****ts client, prospect, and inter-departmental objectives as
requested.
Advise the CEO and collaborate with the executive team on operational
matters.
Manage and develop the team to achieve high levels of productivity
and morale in a manner that encourages creativity and a better
understanding of the business.
Manage special projects, e.g., implementing process and systems
improvements.
Technical:
Acts as a knowledge transfer and training resource for the Oracle
RDBMS and Oracle Applications products.
Understands and communicates to management "big picture" technology
trends and how these trends relate to the company's goals.
Professional:
Provide leader****p and clear, focused goal management of the
department consistent with the expectations agreed to with management.

Education, Personal, and Work Experience Requirements
BS in computer science or related field; preferably Masters degree
in related discipline; MBA a plus.
12+ years of technical experience in a sup****t, consulting, or field
sup****t environment; 5+ years management experience in related industry.
Knowledge of SAS 70 audit standards including, but not limited to,
controls and processes.
Willingness to travel up to 10% of time.
5+ years direct client interaction.
Proficient with computers and various popular software applications,
including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Possesses demonstrable excellent written and verbal interpersonal
and communication skills.
Comfortable and effective managing through influence.
Experienced in multi-location and multinational businesses.
Demonstrates an exceptional work ethic and personal and professional
integrity and is committed to improvement over the status quo.

We are a small company and people have to get along with one another.
We work too closely with one another to tolerate an abrasive individual.
