Job Title: Infrastructure Manager
Location: Houston, TX

Responsibilities
Work with the Build, operate, architecture and shared services teams
in defining, prioritizing and achieving strategic objectives, defining
short and long term objectives for projects/platforms.
Regularly communicate status of program to all impacted stakeholders.
Clearly define infrastructure team objectives, lead the development
of the implementation plan, and oversee the execution of that plan.
Provide the business management team with constructive feedback as
it pertains to project or overall program performance.
Apply knowledge of technical trends and vendor practices in Project
Management to ensure successful delivery of the programs projects.
Ensure compliance of application development activities with audit
and information risk policies.
Act as an interface with internal and external project teams.
Ensure process capability, control and improvement by developing and
implementing relevant quality assurance procedures.
Analyze project risks, costs, and benefits and make relevant
recommendations
to business and technology leader****p team.
Develop processes and tools that encourage continuous performance
improvements.
Analyze potential outside applications of in-house technologies,
identifying those that ave high potential for patents and
commercialization.
Establish and maintain working relation****p with: technology management,
business management, program sponsors, vendors, and business clients.
Act as a communication channel between the various programs for ongoing
program management status and issues, opening up communication channels,
coordinating messages and setting business expectations.
Manage workload of the Infrastructure team by proactively identifying
and resolving issues that would present a risk to on-time implementation
of the program/project.
Play a major role in performance management.
Develop, train, and coach team members.
Promote effective teamwork and manage interpersonal issues.
Required Skills
Strong Infrastructure Technologies skills.
Minimum 10 years IT experience.
Minimum 8 years of Unix/Linux experience on multiple hardware platforms
including Sun, IBM, and Intel.
Minimum 5 years experience at a Senior Engineer level with at least
the following aspects of Unix/Linux technologies: systems configuration,
enterprise systems management, systems administration, troubleshooting,
high availability solutions, capacity planning, etc.
Experience designing and delivering Infrastructure solutions focused
on Unix/Linux based technologies.
Consulting experience, and/or direct experience developing end-to-end
solutions partnering with Customers.
Experience dealing with (partnering with) Customers and cross-functional
IT departments.
Proven experience leading complex projects.
Strong interpersonal communication skills written and verbal.
Strong prioritization skills, with ability to work against deadlines,
and work under pressure.
Strong understanding of 2 or more (and general understanding of
all) of the following infrastructure technologies: Desktops, Servers,
Distributed Computing, Networks, Midrange/Mainframe, Storage, Telecom,
SAN, ETL (preferably Informatica) etc.
Understanding of application development primary concepts such
as data warehouse, web development, middleware.
Strong knowledge and proven experience innovating and applying
solutions to business problems.
Strong solutions delivery background.
Excellent relation****p management skills.
Ability to partner with external teams to jointly delivery
solutions primarily focused around cost savings, overall efficiency,
service excellence, and time-to market.
Ability to work both in a tactical and strategic setting.
Ability to conceptualize strategic vision while working in a
tactical mode to deal with immediate concerns and priority issues.
Ability to identify and drive strategic change.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of Storage solutions (SAN / NAS) a big plus
Storage Technologies certifications a plus
