Hello,
One of my customers (we're a local ISP) needs the services of a
mailing list administrator and a Webmaster, and is unfamilar with
Usenet, so I offered to post this for her.
We use the Mailman mailing list software
(http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/index.html)
for our mailing list
accounts, and our customer needs the assistance of a techie to set up
and administer her mailing list with this software (we set up the
actual mailman account on our server, but a mailing list admin would
need to set up all the parameters of our customer's mailing list and
send the actual mailings for our customer). You must be familiar with
how mailing lists work and it would be especially helpful if you were
specifically familiar with Mailman (but if you are not you must be
willing to read manuals and do your own research - we can help with
questions that are specific to our mailman server, but we will not do
any hand-holding for people unwilling to read manuals). You must be
familiar with proper confirmed opt-in procedures. You must be willing
to explain e-mail and technical concepts to my customer, who is
decidedly non-techie. Her mailing list has about 1000 recipients and
she would like to do broadcast mailings about once every month or two.
She also needs a very basic Web site for her business. It would be
great if the mailing list admin also hade Webmaster skills and could
make a decent simple Web site for her.
This is purely an independent contractor/free lance position. If you
are interested, please send your hourly rate info and your
skills/experience list (examples of a few Web sites you've done would
be helpful) to:

and I will pass your e-mail to my customer if it looks like you would
be right for the job.
Thanks,
Barbara
