Production DBA (SQL Server 2005 / 2000)
POSITION PROFILE:
Administer test and production databases and database servers to
include the design, installation, maintenance and tuning of new and
existing MS SQL databases and database solutions. Design, develop,
maintain, monitor, implement & do***ent SQL database servers, database
tools, and strategies.
Deploy SQL database scripts to test and production SQL servers.
Troubleshoot SQL related issues with remote datacenters.
Setup and build SQL databases.
Performance tune & optimize MS SQL databases.
Monitor & sup****t database applications, performing minor database
programming.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of all aspects of SQL database
applications developed by other teams.
Interface with IT vendor, technology teams, QA & sup****t personnel to
re****t, analyze and resolve problems associated with Internet
applications and SQL servers.
Participate in design meetings to develop product specifications.
May assist in the setup and review of new hardware.
Provide technical leader****p on database administration to other
database and IT staff.
Assist in the implementation of comprehensive backup and database
replication solutions.
Periodically *****s monitoring needs and coordinate the implementation
of effective monitoring policies.
Test and evaluate new database technologies for possible
implementation into infrastructure.
Architect infrastructure requirements for new internet products &
enhancements.
Coordinate database projects with vendors, parent cor****ation, and
project management office. Train employees on related issues.
Occasional travel required. Qualifications: Bachelor degree in MIS,
CIS or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent combination of
education and experience in computer science/data processing, database
administration, software quality assurance or technical sup****t.
Minimum 3 years of MS SQL Database Administration experience in a SQL
2000 & 2005 environment required.
Strong knowledge of SQL database scripting, backup, recovery and
replication.
Solid knowledge and experience with Windows 2000/2003 and MS SQL
Server security.
Must be knowledgeable in Windows 2000, 2003, XP and Vista operating
systems.
Knowledge of other core Microsoft technologies (MTS, IIS, DTS, etc.)
preferred.
Microsoft SQL Certifications a strong plus (MCTS, MCDA, MCDBA,
MCITP).
