Verticalmove is working with a very successful business applications
company located in the 650 area code. Looking for a fresh start for a
new year? Tired of designing and developing the same redundant business
applications that claim a competitive edge or some sort of secret
sauce? Seriously, you should consider this client. The company has just
closed their 2nd round of financing that should last more than 24
months, to-date they've raised over $17MM. Their VC's are very well
known tier-1 names that have been responsible for successful IPO's
such as Informatica, Vantive, FedEx, Phone.com, DoubleClick and
Adaptec. Their customer lists consists of Fortune 500 names that
include Xilinx, Cadence, Rockwell Collins, Symantec, GE, Verizon, Black
& Decker, Juniper Networks and many others.

This is a very fast growing company, doubling their customer-base every
few quarters and doubling their engineering team in the first 2
quarters of 2005. Their product is a hosted infrastructure with several
significant, and complex, server-side subsystems. Engineers who join
this company are faced with several challenging op****tunities to build
caching, messaging, persistence, calculation, clustering, workflow,
security and UI frameworks from scratch. This is not a simple business
application, it does things that haven't been done before.

Principal/Senior Applications Engineer

This would be an op****tunity to work within the application-tier of a
complex hosted business applications suite. You'll be defining the
business logic that is used to interface with a very complex web-based
UI and several sophisticated server-side subsystems such as caching,
messaging, persistence, calculation, clustering, workflow and security.
You'll be working with the best of J2EE, including Struts, MVC, JSP,
Servlets and having some cross-over into the EJB and JMS side of
things.

Requirements:

- 7 or more years of experience developing enterprise software, at
least 3 years developing a web-based business application.
- Solid knowledge of Java/J2SE, as well as, J2EE. Knowledge of most
major J2EE API's are required (JSP, Servlets, EJB, JMS, MVC, Struts,
etc).
- Extensive experience with Web technologies including HTML/DHTML, CSS,
JSP and JavaScript
- Experience with application infrastructure technologies such as
Struts or Tapestry.
- Experience defining, parsing and using XML do***ent structures
- Experience with browser and operating system compatibility issues
- Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to
facilitate meeting discussions to identify effective solutions
