The pain point approach to finding your dream job

by "wilbur" <wilburcastro@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sep 20, 2005 at 08:30 PM

I came across this blog post that talks about finding your dream job.
The approach it talks about is called the pain point approach. It
sounds pretty convincing. Has anyone else had any luck with using this
approach ?

"In the context of an interview people often relate experience to a
person's ability to speak of challenges faced during a particular
role. Indeed the ability to deliver is directly related to your ability
to speak of the key challenges you would face on the job. Especially so
with technical interviews. The interviewer more often than not is
framing questions that form a mix of stuff that he expects you to know
and stuff that will influence the actual decision making in your favor.
So say, you are interviewing for a software engineering position that
requires you to write code for communications software for handhelds."
