Systems Analyst - Operations
Client is a leading provider of financial services to public
sector clients worldwide.
Due to enourmous success they are now seeking experienced
candidates to join their current team
The Role:
The operations systems analyst's role is to take user requirements
(from the business analysts) and determine the optimal solution either
through configuration or customisation (programming) of the Summit
system
Primary Responsibilities
Liaise with the systems architect, business analysts and users for
clarification of operational requirement
Analyse requirements and evaluate alternative development strategies,
determine optimal solution
Perform detailed functional analysis & design
Design solutions in accordance with best practice & agreed standards
Conduct all relevant tests before hand over for user acceptance tests
Work with developers to ensure solutions are correctly developed and
configured
Lead teams of developers in implementing solutions, managing the relevant
development process
Establish & maintain contacts with various vendors
Requirements:
Ideally a degree in Finance, Business, or a related degree with some
finance
components
Good banking instrument and operations knowledge, particularly in areas
such as
settlement processing for financial products (Bonds, Loans, Swaps,
Swaptions,
Caps/Floors, Futures, Options) and bank processes
Excellent understanding of Swift and other payment settlement systems such
as
Euroclear, Clearstream, Payment systems etc
Good knowledge of Summit, ideally 3 years Summit development and analysis
experience
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as a
part of a team
Good knowledge of Sybase, Unix, Windows, shell scripting etc.
Capacity to gain a thorough knowledge of the relevant speciality area
Willing to continuously update personal IT/Business skills and knowledge
