Synopsis: Primary focus is to integrate components into a working system
to prepare them for test, and then run tests. Candidate will configure
software components thru a variety of means to cooperate in a pair-wise or
thread test, and then repeatedly run tests, collect and interpret results,
adjust configs, track and record defects continuing with a broadening
scope until the entire system is integrated and tested. Work is done in a
team environment with constant interaction with peers and customers to
meet milestones within budget and schedule. Specific tasks: Install
software and firmware on bladecenters, workstations, and specialized
hardware; Configure and prepare a system for integration and test; Help
design and develop tests; Participate in Developmental Test and Evaluation
(DT&E); This is a formalized process to run thru a set of defined
tests and procedures to verify and validate a systems functional
performance in an environment with operational conditions. Assist to
develop, analyze and troubleshoot: test scripts and procedures;
characterized test data; test results. A working understanding of a SIGINT
mission that does some type of protocol processing and a familarity with
legacy or new mission applications or infrastructure. Good communications
skills and a working knowledge of industry standard software development
methods (waterfall, evolutionary, spiral, agile) are required. Other
requirements: 5-8 years of work experience in the IT industry, at least 3
of those years on a SIGINT activity; Hands-on experience using Linux, with
experience configuring and troubleshooting Linux; Hands-on experience
writing, installing, configuring, or troubleshooting Linux-based
applications; Basic networking skills; an understanding of IP networks,
applications that use IP-based protocols, and how IP-based applications
can be exploited; A working knowledge of shell scripting using scripting
languages and tools such as sh, bash, perl; Required Skills: TS/SCI with
full scope polygraph. Conditional Clearance Approval (CCA) acceptable
while being scheduled for lifestyle polygraph. Bachelors degree in
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or similar
degree. Masters Degree can be substituted for 2 years experience. Desired
Skills: Familiarity with engineering process standards (CMMI, EIA-731,
etc). Working level understanding of UNIX (Linux, Solaris), Ruby,
ClearCase, ClearQuest, Subversion, Cvs, CruiseControl, Maven, SourceForge.
System administrator level skills are not required, but would be a plus. An
ability and willingness to travel is a plus, but not required for all such
positions. Travel would be about once per month, possibly more during peak
periods of activity.
