We are seeking a SR Hardware and SW/FW Systems Design and Validation
Engineer, for our Vancouver based client
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designing, building and debugging system level Hardware, Software and
Firmware to test Ics
- FPGA design and VHDL coding, as well as high speed board design,
involving both analog and digital circuitry.
- C/C++ firmware development and application level Tcl/Tk scripting for
automated control of the system
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS or better in EE or CE
- 5-8+ years of relevant industry work experience
- Solid knowledge of embedded systems, SOC, and computer architecture
- C and assembly language programming experience
- Knowledge of Tcl/Tk scripting language
- VHDL or Verilog, Synplicity, Cadence simulation tools, and FPGA
design/place route experience
- Good knowledge of circuit theory and high speed (>1GHz) signal
fundamentals
- Experience working with EDA tools for schematic capture and signal
integrity analysis
- Experience implementing high speed system interconnects and associated
logic
- Experience in root cause analysis and debug of high speed electrical
problems
- Strong analytical, communication and do***entation skills
- Good team player, with ability to work independently with little or no
supervision, under tight timelines
- Experience working with customers and external vendors
DESIRABLE:
- Storage networking system hardware development and test experience
- NAS or SAN storage controllers and subsystem integration and development
experience
- Knowledge of SAS, SATA, PCI, PCI-Express, Fiber Channel, iSCSI, and
other technologies commonly used in NAS or SAN
- High Speed SERDES design and test experience
