Duties & Responsibilities
=95 Sup****t creation and tracking of do***entation for IT policies and
procedures such as disaster recovery scenarios and other operations
guides.
=95 Contribute to annual IT budget planning and management
=95 Participate in technology-based projects
=95 Perform security audits, implement and maintain IT security
(intrusion detection, firewall performance, virus and spam protection,
etc)
=95 Participate in 24x7 cell phone sup****t
=95 Perform a variety of duties related to network monitoring and
capacity management
=95 Perform tasks such as scheduled changes, user profile maintenance,
tuning and maintenance, system integrity and capacity checks, patching
and upgrades, analyzing and diagnosing problems, and formulating
solutions.
=95 Interact with vendors, outsourcers and contractors
=95 Providing assistance to employees, with computers, printers and
related equipment, trains employees and end users on equipment use
through guides, tutorials and workshops
=95 *****ses problem re****ts, performs advanced level troubleshooting,
creates and resolves automated tickets, assists IT Manager with
compiling the yearly IT budget
=95 Orders and maintains technical equipment, formulates IT purchases
under the direction of the IT Manager, manages hardware, software and
IT assets inventory
=95 Installs and maintains servers, performs staging and testing of
production servers
=95 Assists with firewall configuration, development, implementation and
execution of disaster recovery plans and IT Security Policies
Required Skills & Abilities
=95 Post secondary certificate or degree in computer science or
equivalent experience
=95 Broad technical knowledge
=95 IT best practice knowledge and expertise
=95 2+ years of system implementation administration experience in a
position comparable to that described in the Essential Functions
section
=95 Passion for working with and learning about technology
=95 Personally committed to team success
=95 Intimate knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 server systems understands
paging and swapping, inter-process communications, devices and what
device drivers do, file system concepts), can use performance analysis
to tune systems.
=95 Solid knowledge of current IT technologies across a wide variety of
areas, including server-grade hardware (RAIDs, multi-core systems,
etc).
=95 Solid working experience with IIS5/6, ASP and ASP.NET based
websites.
=95 A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing
environment concepts; understands principles of client/server
programming, the design of consistent network-wide file system
layouts, high traffic/high availability networking concepts like load
balancing, clustering, VLAN and subnet configuration, configuration
and usage of common networking services (DHCP, DNS, LDAP) as well as
equipment like routers, firewalls, switches and VPNs (IPSec, PPTP,
iptables)
=95 Experience with Cisco equipment and IOS
=95 Experience monitoring web server performance
=95 Excellent oral and written communication skills, English grammar,
business writing, punctuation and spelling
=95 Good time management skills, ability to meet deadlines and deal with
multiple concurrent tasks/work priorities, organize and plan work and
projects
=95 Adaptability and flexibility
=95 Ability to analyze and diagnose computer problems on both servers
and desktop computers
=95 Knowledge of Windows Vista, XP Professional, Windows 2000 and 2003
Servers and hardware, Office applications, Exchange and networking
fundamentals
=95 Ability to operate Web and FTP servers, and centrally managed virus
protection
=95 Must possess excellent customer service and public relations skills,
show attention to detail, desire to achieve excellence, and able to
demonstrate patience, tact, and respect
Useful Assets
=95 OS and application scripting skills
=95 Good understanding of database sup****t, operation, Oracle and/or MS
SQL server administration
=95 Technology Certifications (i.e., MCSE, CCNA/CCNP, A+, Network+,
