Sr Field Applications Engineer - IC
Location: The Bay Area, CA
**Only local candidates currently residing in the Bay area will be
considered**
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with customers, sales representatives in North America and
customer engineering the design service representatives.
- The field Application Engineer will assist our sales team with selling
our solutions and assist our customer engineering with designing and
implementing complex Digital ICs using our technology.
- The Field Application Engineer will be responsible for assisting the
sales team with winning designs and assisting our customer engineering
team with successfully implementing these designs
Requirements:
- BSEE or Better
- 6+ years of experience in design engineering or application engineering
OR
- 5+ years experience as an Field Application Engineer
- Background in sup****t of either internal or external customers is a must
- Experience in using/sup****ting IC design tools including EDA tools for
Simulation (like Modelsim, NCsim, VCS), Synthesis (Synopsys Design
Compiler, Magma BlastCreate), Static Timing Analysis (Primetime,
Quartztime), Formal Verification (Formality, Conformal) is a must.
- Good technical understanding of competitive solutions, including
standard cell ASIC and FPGAs.
- Understanding of complex Digital Integrated Circuits design methodology
and flow, from RTL to placed gates. This includes understanding the
implications of place and route issues, but operating knowledge of place
and route tools is not a requirement.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills when interacting with
multiple customers on multiple projects.
Desirables:
- Experience and Knowledge of FPGA tools and technologies
- Scripting experience with PERL and Tcl
- Operating knowledge of IP cores, such as: Processor cores (ARM)
Standard interfaces (PCI Express, DDR, USB2.0, etc.) High-speed SERDES
- Ability to write technical do***entation including Application notes.
