Sr. Application Engineer - Fiber Optics / Transceiver Products
Location - The Bay Area
Relocation - Yes
Responsibilities:
- Develop solutions for our next generation Fiber Optic Transceiver
products by applying your knowledge in Electronics development and test
development.
Requirements for both positions:
- BSEE / CE or better
- 3+ years experience in application engineering
- Expert Knowledge of networking hardware more specifically the Physical
Layer Components and Standards. (Essential)
- Must have good technical writing skills, demonstrated ability to
analyze/filter technical information, derive conclusions, do***ent results
- Good understanding of the following networks and network equipment:
Fiber Channel
Ethernet
SONET
- Demonstrated ability to dynamically prioritize assignments and work
independently
Position 1additional requirements:

- Experience in high speed (10Gbps+) circuit design, fiber optic test
methods and performance related trouble shooting
- Experience with high frequency simulation modeling using Spice , IBIS ,
or ADS tools
- Experience in developing stand alone verification tools or evaluation
GUIs using Visual Basic or C
- Experience in developing component test plans using software automation
tools like HPVee, VB, TCL, LabView, etc. would be a plus.
Position 2 additional requirements:

- Proficiency in HPVee for test automation
- Experience developing automated test programs using HPVee (Preferred),
TCL, Perl or similar that integrate lab grade O/E test equipment and
networking equipment such as switches / routers / NIC cards.
- Experience with basic equipment drivers, component communication
protocols such as MDIO / I2C / GPIO
- Experience in developing stand alone verification tools or evaluation
GUIs using Visual Basic or C
