We are seeking a SR/Lead Applications Engineer - with a combination of
both Firmware and Hardware experience for our Sunnyvale, CA based client
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary customer interface, sup****ting, managing, developing, and
maintaining hardware and embedded software (firmware) for processor based
storage Ics
QUALIFICATIONS:
** ONLY CANDIDATES CURRENTLY RESIDING LOCALLY IN THE BAY AREA WILL BE
CONSIDERED**
- BS or better in EE, CS, or CE
- 5+ years of embedded software (firmware) development experience, coupled
with good understanding of hardware
- (For more SR role, technical leader****p experience is required, coupled
with 10+ yrs experience)
- Previous customer facing experience
- Experience with board-level debug & bring-up
- Strong debugging skills and experience with bench top equipment such as
protocol analyzers/exercisers, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Strong debugging skills and experience with kernel (Windbg), JTAG,
serial ****t
- Good C/C++ programming skills
- Strong fundamental understanding of RAID
- Familiarity, knowledge or experience with storage networking
concept/protocols such as (Fibre Channel, SCSI/iSCSI, SAS, SATA,
10/100/1000 Ethernet, PCI, PCI-e)
- Excellent teamwork, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams, across multiple
geographical locations
- Ability to travel up to roughly 30%, primarily within North America and
overseas from time to time, to work at customer locations
DESIRABLE:
- 5-7 years storage related experience
- Technical leader****p experience
- Experience with RISC based embedded processors (MIPS preferred)
- Unix or windows driver development experience
- Firmware development with lightweight embedded kernels (ThreadX,
VxWorks, eCos, etc.)
- Experience working with Marketing and Sales teams
- Outsourcing experience
- TCP/IP knowledge/experience Local Area Networking experience
