Sr. J2EE E-Commerce Developer
Job Summary:
Coordinate, design, develop, and implement Web-related application
solutions primarily for Bradford Group public-facing websites
projects. Provide sup****t for various Web application components.
Position interfaces heavily with various areas within IT: (Unix, DBA,
Legacy Developers, Network) in creating solutions and resolving
problems. Position also interfaces with the business clients to
define/clarify requirements, testing plans, etc.
Responsibilities:
* Internet Development Activities - Works with the business (and
vendors) to understand and refine business requirements and
objectives; researches technical solutions, direction and designs;
do***ents results of research by drawing conclusions and making
proposals and recommendations; formulates project estimates;
coordinates and develops application solutions. Is responsible for
object design, coding, testing, debugging, and do***enting assigned
projects. Sup****ts customer-facing websites, including resolving
problems, and implementing various changes to sup****t the business.
Acts independently under general or no direction.
* Team/Technical Sup****t - Provides technical instruction, assistance,
and direction to development staff members. As a highly experienced
technical position, will often be required to act in a Lead role to
coordinate all aspects of a small project, or to coordinate a specific
track within a larger project, and may entail workplans and/or project
status re****ts. Provides technical advice to both Business clients
and IT. Suggest process improvement for all tasks, and recommend
technology to improve business processes, and/or reduce business or IT
costs.
* Administration - Do***ents time expended and costs associated with
various work efforts. Prepares presentations to users, IT management
and IT personnel. Participates in staff and project meetings.
Prepare weekly status re****ts to manager.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
* Must have 4-6 years experience in Java/J2EE Web design and
development.
* Communicates, verbally and in writing, with business clients and
vendors, as well as IT team members.
* Strong Analytical skills
* Strong Testing skills
* Technical Track Lead and Technical Design skills
* Good Unix skills, familiarity with concepts, commands and scripting
(ie Korn shell)
* GUI development tools for Java - WebSphere Application Developer
(WSAD) preferred
* Database knowledge and experience - DB2/UDB preferred, SQL
Procedures
* Languages - Java/Javascript, J2EE, SQL, SQL procedures, HTML,
WebSphere
* Self-Motivated
* WorkPlan creation/update desired
