Design Net Engineering is a 10 year old technology, R&D and Aerospace
Engineering company located in Lakewood, Colorado. This job posting is
for our Aerospace development group. This group of electrical,
software, mechanical, and systems engineers specializes in avionics
sup****t for spacecraft and their payloads. We currently work for NASA,
MDA, the Air Force Research Lab, the Naval Research Lab, as well as
commercial aerospace customers. We require highly qualified design
engineers who are also excellent communicators and team players. We
encourage entrepreneur****p and expect all employees to be actively

Job Description: DEVELOP SOFTWARE TO SUP****T PLUG&PLAY
SATELLITE
SYSTEMS
Major Areas of Responsibility (MARs)
MAR 1: Use an existing network-based data architecture as the
framework to develop applications to sup****t the operational needs of
a research satellite implementing plug&play technologies.
MAR 2: Gather and do***ent requirements for various device-level or
application-level components in the networked system. Use these
requirements to develop specification do***ents.
MAR 3: Convert specifications to software designs, sup****ting review
of the designs at the peer level and at milestone reviews with the
customer. Convert these designs to code, engaging in debugging and
testing of using traditional development environments. Develop test
plans and procedures and do***ent test results in re****ts.
MAR 4: Work with the Design_Net Electrical Engineering team as
required - integrating embedded code on hardware units and perform
module-level testing. Sup****t system-level integration and test with
developed application code.
MAR 5: Provide off-site integration sup****t of application software
and/or components hosting software developed by Design_Net
Engineering.
MA
Minimum Requirements
Education: BSE or higher in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
Experience: 5+ years of experience related to engineering or
science-
oriented programming with previous experience working with hardware
devices.
Special Requirements: Must have good team interaction experience,
do***entation and re****ting skills, and excellent knowledge exchange
skills for participating in reviews and presentations. Must be highly
motivated, resourceful, and autonomous, with the ability to research
and "close the loop" on identified issues. Developer should have
experience programming in the Microsoft Visual Studio Environment and
Linux-based programming environments. C and C++ are essential
languages - some familiarity with C# would also be beneficial. We use
XML extensively to express interfaces and capabilities. As such, the
applicant should be comfortable with the XML language. It is highly
desirable for the candidate to have specific experience with
engineering numerical methods, understanding of and/or experience
working with electronics, and possibly a rudimentary understanding of
space systems (i.e. spacecraft dynamics, thermal analysis, power
systems, etc...)
Additional Notes: The ideal candidate will have had ample
experience
working with devices in a distributed data architecture, understanding
the issues and limitations imposed by the constraints of a non-
deterministic system. The ability to understand how to combine
hardware device capabilities and application software into a
functional system that meets high-level requirements is another skill
that would greatly benefit the project. Rapidly prototyping code and
transitioning the products to maturity are, above all, the most
essential skill that the candidate can offer.
