Senior Oracle DBA
6 month contract to hire

Prism Group is currently seeking Minimum 3 years ORACLE
administration / engineering in a DEVELOPMENT / SQA environment.
We're looking for a DBA who has worked with Software Engineering, SQA
teams, and understands the full software development process. This is
a contract to hire position.
Requirements:
* Oracle DBA
* Strong recent working experience in an iterative software
development environment such as Agile, Scrum, XP, etc.
* Linux/Solaris OS platform
* Shell scripting
* Good understanding of Modeling concepts (object and relational)
* Good communication skills
Additional Skills Desired:
* Basic understanding of metadata and its effects on rules-oriented
systems.
* Exposure to telecom environment
* Exposure to Oracle RAC and clustering administration
* Knowledge of setting up Oracle replication technologies such as
streams
* Knowledge of setting up high availability systems
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field;
or equivalent experience and 7+ years experience; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
* Experience in the entire product lifecycle and comprehension of the
impacts of design decisions at different stages
* Experience in system sizing, capacity planning and performance
tuning, data replication and backup and disaster recovery design.
* Experience designing highly available, distributed, heterogeneous
and scalable systems, relational database design and object/relational
database mapping.
* Familiarity with multi-process operating systems, client server
architectures and web based applications.
