Description: QA Engineer
The Trading department at our client implements cost-effective trading
strategies in a broad range of financial markets to achieve the target
positions set by the Research department. The Trading Technology team
develops proprietary software and integrates some vendor solutions to
facilitate trading. Trading technology also organizes data collection and
processing to facilitate the post-trade analysis, which is vital to the
continuous improvement of the company’s trade execution strategies.
Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced individual who
understands SDLC and QA Testing Methodologies. The ideal candidate enjoys
working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, is comfortable providing
and receiving constructive criticism, can juggle multiple priorities, and
has excellent analytical, communication, and do***entation skills.
Position Responsibilities:
Ensuring that each software enhancement deployed to our trading desk
achieves its specific purpose/benefit and does not degrade any other
feature or performance
Working with Traders and Technology Associates to understand our systems
and to write and execute our suite of manual and automated regression
tests
Driving our developers and our development process to produce code that is
thoroughly testable and that meets our high standards for quality
Position Requirements:
College degree
Three plus years of Quality Assurance experience
Experience with white/black box and performance testing of real time
systems
Creativity, original thought and not constrained by the status quo
Common sense – practical problem decomposition and problem solving
Character – credits contributors and acknowledges and corrects mistakes
Thoroughness and attention to detail
Desire and ability to improve systems and processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills:
Financial Services experience
Experience with unit test frameworks (e.g NUnit, JUnit)
Experience with GUI testing toolkits (e.g. Quick Test Pro, VB Scripts)
Experience with SQL scripts (writing and executing)
Experience with writing and executing manual and automated test cases
Demonstrated success at one of the nation’s top universities
Degree in Finance, Computer Science, or Engineering
