Description:   SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT SENIOR SCIENTIST Full-Time Requisition
ID 24243 posted 03/21/2008 WA****NGTON, DC Requirements: Sup****ting the
Department of State Bureau of Human Resources, this position will design
and implement SharePoint MOSS 2007 sites based on the client needs. Analyze
business requirements and transform them into technical design. Implement
the design to develop and test the functional requirements. Maintain source
code and versioning through development and release process. Proactively
provide ideas and solutions towards the improvement in the HR Bureau
environment. This position will perform work that is an integral part of
creating the look and feel of the Departments Human Resources website
(HRWEB) using a combination of tools, including CommonSpot, SharePoint,
Cold Fusion, Dream Weaver, Survey Tracker, Adobe Suite, Structured Query
Language (SQL), and Java Script to develop, enhance and maintain Intranet
and Internet sites for the Departments Bureau of Human Resources (HR) and
their end-users worldwide. Working with the Web Team, integrate Cold
Fusion-based Web applications that reflect HR client requirements
identified by and coordinated with Web Liaisons. Those include Cold Fusion
applications, including Calendar of Events, Contact/Feedback Page, HR
Configuration Control Board, Home Page Modules, Leave Donations, HR/CSP
Vacancy Announcements, Logon Administration, State Magazine, R-Net and HR
Notices. Ensures Section 508 compliance for developed databases and
applications. Required Skills: . Good written and communication skills .
Develop high level and detailed design specifications . Assist with
requirements gathering, analysis, and specification development . ASP.Net
development . Microsoft Office SharePoint Services 2003 and/or 2007 .
General knowledge of SQL

Recognized industry expert in analyzing complex software and hardware
systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating
systems, designing applications and selecting hardware and telephony
methods and devices.  Resolves difficult inter-operability problems to
obtain operation across all platforms.  Configures systems to user
environments. Sup****ts acquisition of hardware and software as well as
subcontractor services.  Serves as in-house and industry recognized expert.
Requires bachelors degree in computer science, or related field, or
equivalent, and fifteen or more years of progressively responsible systems
engineering. A Masters degree in computer science is preferred.
