Description Our Professional Services organization is also expanding, and
we have a new opening for aTechnical Consultant for ourServer Automation
Systemproduct line. The Technical Consultant Engineer serves as a key
member of the Customer Solutions team responsible for the implementation
and customization of Opsware on customer premises. This individual will be
working directly with the customer and should be comfortable representing
the company. Ideal candidates will have expert level system administration
skills and software development experience with a strong understanding of
cross platform administration and large scale, distributed systems
environments. Key Responsibilities: * Install and configure Opsware System
on client premises * Debugging of low level operating system, networking,
and application problems * Train customers in the use, administration, and
customization of Opsware * Package clients custom technology and
applications for use with Opsware * Work with customer to deploy large
scale, business critical applications using Opsware * Customize and extend
Opsware based on customers business requirements for Federal Customers *
Develop custom applications using the Opsware APIs (Application
Programming Interfaces) and industry standard programming languages such
as Perl, C, C++ Python, or Visual Basic to meet clients business needs
Qualifications Requirements: Successful candidates will be able to
demonstrate a strong working knowledge of and hands on experience in the
following areas: * System administration and debugging experience on at
least two of the following platforms: Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX,
and BSD with a strong preference to Windows experience. * Network
configuration and troubleshooting on large IP networks. DNS and DHCP
administration experience a plus. * Automation of common tasks with Perl,
shell scripts, VB script or batch files. * Experience with software
packaging (e.g.RPM,MSI, etc.) and software distribution. * Basic
administration of Oracle databases. SQL is a plus. Crystal Re****ts is a
plus * Background with Jumpstart/Kickstart a plus. * Some experience with
Scripting Languages essential * TS/SCI Clearance required, or the ability
to obtain quickly * Ability to work with customer teams with outstanding
verbal and written communication skills * Bachelors or Masters in Computer
Science or equivalent
