Candidate will have one year experience working in either a correctional
institution or secured facility, working at close proximity to inmates and
have specific experience in material handling, supply, distribution and
inspection. Other requirements include a high school diploma or GED plus
two (2) years of college or technical school highly desirable. May
substitute experience for education at the rate of one year of specific
experience for one year of high school or college. Candidate must be
computer literate and proficient in the use of automated distribution
systems. Job Description : Essential duties will be carried out in the
Central Detention Facility (CDF) of the District of Columbias Department
of Corrections. The primary tasks are the inventory of goods stored within
sixteen (16) housing units inside the CDF, the data system assisted
reordering of goods to replenish the inventory in the housing units,
delivery of goods to restock the housing units, and the delivery of
canteen/commissary goods to the inmates. A small 250 square foot stocking
area will also be maintained inside the CDF. The goods delivered to the
housing units will be primarily household goods and the canteen/commissary
goods are principally food and snack goods that are prepackaged. There will
be daily contact with Corrections Officers and with inmates under the
control of Corrections Officers. Essential Responsibilities: 1.
Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of
material as per contract requirements. 2. will perform clerical and
physical tasks in connection with ****pping goods. 3. will need to handle
unusual non-routine problems, and receives direction from site manager. 4.

workers engaged in handling goods to verify that orders are accurately
filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for ****pment
against do***ents; insuring that ****pments are properly packaged,
identified with ****pping information, and loaded into trans****ting
vehicles, and preparing and keeping records of goods ****pped, e.g.,

goods received. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Moving MHE, obstacles and high volume activity. Must be able to lift and
carry up to 35 pounds for short distances, stoop, bend, kneel, walk have
full dexterity and correctable vision. Outside work in hot and cold or wet
weather is often required. Work environment may have fumes or airborne
particles. Noise level is loud. Protective devises are required to avoid
