Description: Technical Generalist with Direct Management
responsibilities for CommVault Consulting Engineers (CEs) and Senior
Consulting Engineers (SCEs), assuring tactical management of solutions
deployments throughout the US Federal Region.
This full time, salaried employee engages directly with CommVault Account
Teams and Strategic Partners/Reseller to scope and do***ent tasks
associated with the deployment of CommVault solutions and applications.
Interfaces directly with resellers and clients to review and discuss
deployments, expanding the scale of these projects. Interfaces directly
with National Professional Services Coordinator (PSRC) in ensuring
successful resource assignment necessary to deliver projects within scope
and per criteria. Interfaces directly with CommVault CEs / SCEs in
defining project success criteria and ensuring successful management
necessary to deliver projects within scope and per criteria. Interfaces
directly with Professional Services (PS) Operations to close projects and
recognize revenue, as well as with other regional PSMs for resource
coordination with personnel outside of their regional territories, on an
as-needed basis. Interfaces with all departments, including Sup****t,
Development, Finance, Marketing, etc., on an as-needed basis.
The Federal Region Professional Services Manager (PSM) re****ts directly to
the US National Professional Service Manager.
The PSM position requires periodic overnight travel (United States may
require onsite visitation from the PSM to geographies outside of the PSMs
region, however, this is the exception, rather than the rule.
Each PS Region is managed as a separate Profit and Loss center for
engineering activities and each PSM is responsible for the efficient
management of engineering resources in order to align utilization and
realization goals with engineering head count.
Based on notification from regional Account Team, the PSM works with the
team / end user personnel / channel personnel to complete an estimate on
the services scope and cost associated with the completion of tasks that
align to end user requirements for the proposed effort. If required, PSM
drafts a Statement of Work for services delivery, inclusive of
establi****ng milestones associated with the completion of the project.
Based on current projects, project backlog, and forecasted op****tunities,
the PSM coordinates resource availability and skill sets necessary to meet
known and anticipated project requirements. Working with the National PSM,
the Federal Region PSM coordinates resource training and resource
recruiting necessary to meet Cor****ate productivity goals for revenue and
engineer utilization. Resource Management to include:
* Managing New Hire Processing for Region
* Coordination of ongoing training and skill development for engineers
* Coordination of Cor****ate-sponsored engineering training for personnel
as necessary and appropriate
* Professional development of regional CE/SCE team
* Primary customer point of contact for Professional Services
Required Skills:
* College Degree (Business Technology / Technical) preferred, but not
necessary
* 2-3 years in Federal Business / Business Development (i.e.: Technical
Inside Sales; Technical Project Coordination)
* 2-3 years in Federal (civilian and / or DoD) project / program
management.
* PMP or similar certification (or commensurate experience preferred, but
not required)
* General understanding of business (P&L) concepts required
* US DoD Security clearance a strong plus
* Software reseller experience a strong plus
* Office Automation - MS Office, including Visio and MS Project (Project
can be trained)
* Excellent Written communication skills
* Excellent Verbal communication skills
- Interaction experience with CxO / Director-level personnel preferred
* Demonstrated ability to establish rap****t
* Demonstrated Time Management skills
* Demonstrated initiative / self-starter
