Our Customer located in southwestern Ontario is seeking a Maintenance
Manger to join their team in a full-time permanent capacity. They are
a leader in the global food industry. They develop, produce and market
lifestyle and nutritional foods, flavours, and ingredients to meet
today's consumer demands for healthy, convenient, tasteful food and
beverages.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for hands on approach to lead the maintenance
team. Develop and implement Preventative Maintenance programs in
accordance with production schedules and demands, minimizing any down
time. Ensure that all equipment and building are maintained to Kerry
Canada standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engineering
* Chief Engineer of steam and refrigeration systems. (4th Class
Stationary Engineer preferred)
* Research equipment to determine the need for new machinery in the
implementation of new products
* Troubleshoot and provide suggestions for capital projects
* Oversee the installation and maintenance of new product launches
Purchasing
* Prepare and maintain maintenance budget
* Obtain pricing from list of approved suppliers
* Search for required parts using catalogues, internet and phone
* Obtain purchase order and enter into system
* Verify delivery schedule of ordered parts and equipment
* Meet with outside sales representatives to review new equipment
Preventative Maintenance
* Oversee preventative maintenance system for maintenance, quality and
production departments
* Review preventative maintenance schedules regularly to *****s and
revise
* Minimize down time generated by equipment failure
* Manage outside services in relating to facility maintenance
Maintenance Team Management
* Oversee training program for maintenance employees
* Provide guidance and direction to all maintenance staff including
electricians, millwrights, stationary engineers, operations assistant,
contractors and subcontractors
* Work in coordination of maintenance team to develop departmental and
individual objectives
* Responsible for the recruitment and termination of employees
Continuous Improvements
* Maintain technical proficiency through participating in training and
development courses as provided by Kerry Canada
* Adhere to the ethical standards of those implicit within Kerry
Canada
* Participate with team members in continuous improvement projects and
suggestions
Equipment/Technology Utilized
* Computer - COGZ, AutoCAD

* Welder - Tig and Stick

Education
* Licensed Millwright or Electrician
* Stationary Engineer (4th Class)
* Management courses
Experience
* 5 years of Maintenance and Supervisory/Management experience in a
manufacturing environment in the food industry (a must)
* Electrical knowledge an asset
Communication
* Interact with all internal organizational staff in a sup****tive and
co-operative manner
* Inform appropriate staff of any information pertinent to activities,
do***entation or departmental concerns
* Notify internal department of internal and external communications
* Contact Maintenance Manager regarding any discrepancies or further
information required to complete functions
This is a full-time permanent position. The pay is commensurate with
education, work experience and over-all fit within the organization.
