Intermediate Web Programmer/Analyst
Location: Grimsby, ON
Description:
As an intermediate developer, the Intermediate Web Programmer/Analyst is
expected to participate fully in all aspects of the software development
lifecycle. Major duties include requirements analysis, technical design,
development, and application maintenance. The ability to provide written
estimates of work tasks and communicate clearly with other team members
and
management, both verbally and through standardized do***entation, is
necessary.
Duties
Technical Design
Design web-based data-driven applications, using common data modeling and
application do***entation techniques.
Development
Develop PHP, ASP, and MYSQL Server applications, following ISL coding and
commenting standards.
Maintenance and Sup****t
Test and troubleshoot new and current applications. Provide fixes for
discovered application problems, and clearly relate problem and fixes to
others in the development or management team.
Personal Development
Work with management to identify areas of needed or desired technical
improvement, and create a training plan to accomplish them.
Time Estimates
Provide accurate work estimates for all tasks. Do***ent estimates as
required by the project manager.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
a.. Work well in a collaborative team environment, following established
coding and do***entation standards, and be able to communicate efficiently
with other team members. Must be able to provide time estimates before
starting tasks and track time during tasks.
b.. Proficiency in PHP, ASP, MYSQL Server, XHTML
c.. Familiarity with JavaScript, XSLT, CSS, image manipulation, and W3C
web coding standards
d.. Administrative ability in Windows 2000/XP, Windows Server 2000/2003,
IIS (5, 5.1 & 6), and SQL Server 2000
e.. Understanding of IIS and internet architecture, and the underlying
technologies
f.. Ability to set up own development environment, including operating
system and all development tools needed
g.. Ability to deploy new IIS-based websites and SQL Server databases to
a
server environment
h.. Experience with web-based content management systems or e-commerce
applications would be an asset.
