I am not white. I worked as a contractor at New York Life Insurance at
Reno, NV. The first two months went fine. My manager told me
several times what a good job I was doing. But a white person with a high
school diploma no less from another group told me I was doing
a lousy job and that when she did the same job several years ago she did
it
a lot better. So I told her to complain to my manager. I was
blamed for that apparently I should not have answered back. She cried and
told my manager that "she was only trying to help". They moved
me to another cube but now she took to walking past my cube and muttering
"creep" and other words. So I complained about that and my
contract was terminated. If you are not white the best way to keep a job
is
to just put up with the insults but somehow even losing your
job feels better than that. I'll bet that thousands of coloured people in
america have the same experience I have so tell me do you just
put up with it or what.
