Journalist/Writer, Public Relations - ACT, Inc., the organization
best known for the college admissions exam, is seeking an
experienced media relations professional for its National Office
in Iowa City, Iowa. The Senior Communications Associate will use
fluency in native Spanish, both written and spoken, to deliver
consistent education and workforce development messages to the
Hispanic community. This individual will develop relation****ps
with news media representatives, with an emphasis on Hispanic
media. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Journalism,
Public Relations, Advertising, English, or comparable field, and
a minimum of 7 years in a professional news or public relations
environment dealing with educational and/or business issues.
You'll be required to "think on your feet" as a national
spokesperson for ACT in both print and broadcast interviews, and
your experience must demonstrate this ability. Strong written and
oral communications skills and fluency in native Spanish are
mandatory. Job tasks will also include writing news releases,
radio and TV features, voice-over and on-camera work. A full
appreciation of the Hispanic heritage, culture and community is
required. You will join a dedicated media relations team in a
