supervision of General Manager or Director Supervision Given:
Supervises the work of assigned employees and contractors engaged
in associated activities. Position Summary/Accountabilities:
Manages and provides leader****p for basic to complex construction
and maintenance of electric substations. Responsible for:
Ensuring permits, labor, equipment, and materials are available
to sup****t construction, testing, and commissioning of
substations Execution of planned and corrective substation
maintenance Substation construction and maintenance budgets and
schedules Emergency response work Coordination of engineering
resources for substation work Job Functions: Assists in the
development of the rolling 12-month forecast for all work. This
involves determining labor, equipment and material resources
needed. Responsible for developing the one-week scheduling for
all work. Demonstrates ability to resolve customer concerns and
complaints. Demonstrates leader****p in the area of safety. This
requires observing and enforcing safety rules and operating
practices, encouraging safe work behaviors and promptly
correcting conditions and unsafe work behaviors which may lead to
accidents. With the assistance of the safety department,
investigates accidents and safety incidents. Responsible for
communicating safety investigation information to managers.
Responsible for administering and monitoring safety programs and
performing safety *****sments. Understands and enforces rules
set by regulatory bodies (i.e. DOT, OSHA, DNR, etc.).
Responsible for the safe operation of assigned utility systems.
Acts as the ultimate decision-maker during life-threatening
emergency situations involving facilities, people and property.
Accountable for performance measurements and standards of
associated processes utilizing SCORE initiatives and quality
measurements (i.e. six sigma). Demonstrates understanding of
performance measures and utilizes information to improve process
(e.g. cost control, scheduling execution, safety, etc.) across
Energy Delivery processes. Utilizes information to improve
management of their respective process. Complies with
accountabilities outlined in Service Level Commitments (SLC) and
cor****ate or Energy Delivery procedures. Develops goals to
improve the performance of the process and individual
professional development. Responsible for construction and
maintenance of electric distribution and transmission substations
(IPL). Responsible for construction and maintenance of electric
distribution substations, as well as electric transmission
substations under contract with the American Transmission Company
(WPL). Manages the construction phase of projects, both
internal and Value Added Products and Services (VAPS) work. This
includes managing crew productivity, ensuring the efficient
execution of the construction process, identifying equipment
requirements, removing barriers for construction crew, making
arrangements for staging area, and other activities associated
with cost effe
