Essential Skills
----------------
Solid industry experience (ideally 3+ years) using many of the
following:
- Very strong core Java
- Web based UI: Servlets/Applets/Javascript/Ajax
- Good expertise with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit
- Excellent knowledge of User interface design principles
- Knowledge/Experience with distributed systems and service-oriented
design principles
- Familiar with XML processing and related technologies
- Good knowledge of object-oriented design principles and design
patterns with an understanding of their application within Java
- Third level degree in computer related discipline or strong
background in computer science
Desirable Experience & Background (inc. qualifications):
---------------------------------------------------------
- Experience/Knowledge of do***ent processing and search techniques
- Experience/Knowledge of ASP.NET 2.0, C#, and Python
- Agile software development processes
- Experience/Knowledge of Semantic technologies
- A relevant post graduate degree (MSc, PhD) or relevant industrial
experience
The position is full-time, located at DERI Galway. The duration of the
post will be for 1 year in the first instance. The salary will be in
the range =E2=82=AC22,313=E2=80=94=E2=82=AC41,530, depending on
qualificati=
ons and experience.
An early start date is preferable as the position is now open. A
panel for future similar positions may be formed.
