This role is a mix of Web and Client-Server technologies. Functional
responsibilities of the Web/Client Server Build Engineer include:
Administering source control systems (Visual SourceSafe), creating and
managing software build process for both web and client server
applications and application deployment management across all
environments. Responsibilities also include management and
maintenance of all Test, QA, Stage and Production environments
including the test data flowing between them. Maintain high service
levels to both the applications development and end user communities
is a critical success factor for this position.
Responsibilities include:
=B7Develop and maintain build processes and build scripting.
=B7Administer source code control
=B7Install custom IT application code onto servers
=B7Follow strict code propagation guidelines to create a repeatable
software deployment process
=B7Author and refine server side IT application installation
instructions
=B7Assist production sup****t team in application installation
=B7Configure server to comply with security/privacy/accessibility
policies
=B7Communicate status of builds
=B7Attend team meetings and otherwise collaborate with team on build
planning and execution
=B7Identify all affected systems and processes before the change is
implemented in order to mitigate or eliminate any adverse effects.
=B7Monitor the change process from development/procurement through
implementation.
=B7Ensure entire process is properly do***ented per CDW compliance
standards.
=B7Develop and maintain test data extraction processes.
=B7Establish written procedures for all processes.
Qualifications
=B74+ Years of related job experience
=B7Knowledge of Microsoft scripting technologies such as VB, ANT, and
ASP
=B7Experience configuring and deploying Microsoft web applications,
batch jobs, and Windows applications in a production IT environment
=B7Experience administering Visual SourceSafe or other source code
control systems
=B7Experience with Build software a plus
=B7Experience with object-oriented design and programming techniques a
plus
=B7Experience with creating applications using any of the following
technologies: C#, .NET, JAVA, VB, C++, COM, Web Services, XML, SQL
Server, ASPX is a plus.
=B7Ability to work effectively with development and project team
members
=B7Strong written and verbal communication skills
=B7Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a
related field preferred
