MS SQL Server DBA
DUTIES: As a Microsoft MS SQL Server DBA, you will be responsible for:
(1) Performing effective centralized database administration for
multiple MS SQL Server databases including databases for production,
testing, and staging environments; (2)
Ensuring Service Level Agreement's (SLA's) and operational Key
Performance Indicator's (KPI's) are met, working as necessary with
internal and external sup****t functions when major incidents occur;
(3) Providing sup****t and installation for sup****ted database IT
infrastructure; (4) Administering database user permissions and
profiles and ensure that database IT security remains intact; (5)
Proactively monitoring sup****ted database IT infrastructure and
ensuring issues identified (including potential options to resolve)
are resolved promptly; (6) Ensuring database backups are appropriately
executed and periodic restorations are exercised to ensure backup
quality; (7) Maintaining and exercising disaster recovery procedures
for production databases sup****ted; (8) Ensuring high quality
do***entation for sup****ted infrastructure is developed and
maintained; (9) Providing timely, quality estimates for any project
work; (10) Ensuring consistently high levels of sup****t as SQL Server
is deployed more widely across a global environment; (11) Successfully
providing SQL Server sup****t across an increasingly global
environment; (12) Maintaining the highest levels of systems
availability; (13) Maintaining and evolving excellent working
relation****ps both internally and externally; (14) Maintaining a high
level of productivity and co-ordination in an environment where many
activities are simultaneously taking place; (15) Drive the global
implementation of MS SQL Server 2005.
REQUIRED:
5 years as a MICROSOFT MS SQL SERVER DBA where has strength in BOTH MS
SQL Server database ADMINISTRATION (performance monitoring,
performance tuning, installs, upgrades, backups, recoveries, etc.) and
PHYSICAL and LOGICAL DESIGN.
MUST have 3 years of MS SQL Server 2000 and also have 2003.
MUST have Experience with database larger than 500Gb.
MUST have experience with partitioning.
MUST have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
MUST have ability to prioritize own workload and manage time
effectively according to business needs.
Basic project management / co-ordination ability.
