We have a great contract op****tunity for a Network Sup****t Technician.
Location: Northwestn suburbs of Chicago
Duration 6-9 months
Rate $20-25 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide Level II-III technical sup****t for global
data network. Candidate must able to troubleshoot various network
technologies and correct technical problems with various network
electronics such as wired/wireless switches, routers, load balancers,
firewalls, SSL VPNs, and IDS systems. Individual must have strong
verbal and written communication skills and will be responsible for
day-to-day management of Service Desk tickets. Candidate will have off-
hour 7 x 24 call responsibilities every other week through end of
year.
COMPETENCIES: Candidate must have an intermediate level of
understanding of at least three of the following technologies: LAN,
WAN, VPN, Wireless, and Network Security. Must be able to understand
the software, hardware, and operational characteristics of the
standard LAN and WAN. Individual must have strong understanding of the
interrelation****p with the networking technologies that will be
sup****ted.
Candidate should have a strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols that
are generally used in a networking environment as well as interior
routing protocols, switching concepts, and firewall rule structure.
QUALIFICATIONS: 2-3 years of experience in Information Technology Data
Communications including LAN, /WAN, Network Security as well as
Wireless Networking sup****t. Specialized technical courses in
communications technology - typically provided by vendors, technical
societies, or equivalent experience, is a plus.
Additional Info:
a. Coverage - Required to work flexible hours and occasional off
hours. Candidate must be able to provide on-call sup****t via
predefined rotational schedule including Holiday periods. Candidate
will have off-hour 7 x 24 call responsibilities every other week
through end of year.
