Description
POSITION PURPOSE
Provide leader****p in existing and custom systems analysis and
definition; lead the investigation of new tools, software and
technology, and set the technical direction of projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Design, analyze code, test, debug, modify, and do***ent complex
systems requiring thorough knowledge of business applications and
processes with little or no supervision.
2. Prepare detailed specifications for business applications projects,
including development of new applications and customizations that will
be integrated with existing applications.
3. Work with users, Information Services team, and other technical
staff to direct the diagnosis and resolution of problems related to
the maintenance and sup****t of business applications.
4. Design, modify and analyze existing business applications and
processes and provide recommendations for system improvements or
enhancements for improved efficiency and/or process improvement.
5. Use full technical knowledge and understanding of business or
function for which applications are being designed to devise or modify
procedures to solve complex problems considering architectural
limitations, performance, form of desired results, and potential
risks.
6. Mentor other team members in regards to software design, analysis,
and development tips focusing on new technologies.
7. Work with the Project Leader to achieve maximum results through the
software development lifecycle process through enforcement and
adherence to all development processes and procedures.
8. Develop training and assist with training of other information
technology team members regarding the department=92s tools,
applications, policies and procedures. Function as a point of contact
to answer questions and provide technical leader****p.
OTHER DUTIES
1. Perform code review with team members and work with the Project
Leader to develop quality and procedural processes.
2. Evaluate 3rd party vendor application packages and provide
evaluation to the management team.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on
equivalent basis
Education: Bachelor=92s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience: 5 years of progressively more responsible experience with
a minimum of
3 years experience with Oracle Applications or equivalent ERP system.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
The ideal candidate will have:
4+ yrs of development/analysis experience in an Oracle Applications
environment, Oracle Programming Skills (SQL, PL/SQL), Oracle Forms 6i,
Oracle Re****ts 6i, and Complex Systems Design and Testing. 2+ years in
Java Development environment using Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle
Application Framework, Unix Scripting, database design, data modeling
(logical design) and Change Management systems. Experience with XML
Publisher. Additional Skills Oracle Applications Functional experience
with 1 of the following: Finance, HR, Payroll, LD, Projects, and
Grants. SOA, Web Services, ADF, JSF, JSP, XML/XSL, and BPEL experience
desired. Microsoft Project, Java Mentoring, .Net2.0 and DBI
development experience is a plus. Excellent oral and written
communication skills are also essential. Strong critical thinking,
problem solving and attentiveness to detail required.
