These caring individuals provide compassionate listening, sup****t and
non-judgmental guidance. Their function is to help patients and
families find peace and comfort by sup****ting the patient/family's
religious traditions and/or coordinating services with the family's
spiritual counselors. If it is the paitent's wish, the chaplain is
available to read to them and/or offer prayers appropriate to their
faith tradition. Chaplains are also available after death,
coordinating the bereavement program and providing grief sup****t.
